From the Percy Priest Elementary talk. I tweeted out for folks to say hi to elementary age parents gathered to chat about internet safety:
From the USN session:
I asked my PLN on twitter for recommendations of resources to share with you. This is just a picture grabbed from the direct responses I received within 5 minutes of the "ask." Some of these resources appear on the front page of this wiki. The comment walls and the im features at facebook function much like twitter, which is a dedicated "micro-blogging" platform at http://twitter.com. Twitter is just one component of my own Personal Learning Network, and most of my "tweets" are concerned with technology in education. Your child is very likely to be creating his or her own learning network through social media like Facebook or MySpace as we speak. What will it look like for them?
And, just fyi, here's a random screenshot of my Twhirl (a Twitter client that updates automatically at preset intervals) window, as an example of the kinds of conversations I can dip into at any time on Twitter.
